A bit late this week but as useful as ever, Todd’s roundup of relevant goodies on the intertubes. Lots of interesting noir-related stuff there.
Among the (distinctly non-noirish) delights of personal interest to me is an essay by Steve Gallagher on Jimmy Edwards and John Franklyn-Robbins. Edwards was one of the significant comedian figures of my childhood, along with the likes of Tony Hancock, Kenneth Horne (and cohorts), the Goons, Jimmy Clitheroe, the cast of The Navy Lark . . . Decades later, my American wife entertains herself by listening to some of these old radio shows on her computer. What goes around plus c’est la meme chose, or something like that.
